Peruvian Squash Star Elias Joins Eye Rackets

Peruvian squash sensation Diego Elias, who in 2015 became just the fourth player ever to win multiple World Junior Championships following the footsteps of Ramy Ashour, Mohamed ElShorbagy and Marwan ElShorbagy, has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Eye Rackets that will see him wear a customised signature version of the brand’s performance S-Line shoes.

Elias, who at just 21 has already claimed four PSA World Tour titles and ranked as highly as World No.10, has been widely touted as a future World No.1 and, having trained under the guidance of former World Champion Jonathon Power, has become known as one of the most skilful and entertaining young players on the professional circuit.

Dubbed the ‘Peruvian Puma’ for his grace, power and adaptability on court, Elias’ shoe will feature his custom logo in a striking black carbon colour while he joins 2016 World Champion Karim Abdel Gawad and rising English talent Declan James as the latest player to join the Eye Team alongside the likes of Mazen Hesham, Paul Coll and Fares Dessouki.

“I’m very excited to be joining Eye Rackets, who I think are one of the coolest brands in the squash market at the moment and a brand that really appeals to the younger generation,” said Elias.

“I have huge respect for the work that Joey Barrington and the team at Eye have been doing with all their players and for their individual approach to the players they work with.

“It’s a dream come true to have my own signature shoes and Eye have come up with a perfect, striking colour scheme featuring the Peruvian Puma emblem which I think looks fantastic and I’m really excited to wear them in competition for the next few years.”
